Welcome!
I provide high-quality, professional hoofcare. I emphasize a ground-parallel coffin bone of the hoof, a quick and gentle break-over, and getting the diet right to have sustainable soundness. My approach requires owner participation in whole-horse management, while seeking to provide optimum hoof health through natural trimming. I will shoe when needed, but aim to see every horse stay sound barefoot.
Preventative maintenance is key to good hooves. Trims are set at 6 to 8 week intervals, depending on the horse and the season (hooves grow slower in the cold months). Your horse's hooves should not look bad before your next trim. By the time they "look" like they need a trim, they are overdue and probably stressing the whiteline connection due to excessive length.
I schedule your next trim each visit, show up on time, and am available by phone or email for questions or comments.
